Psychoanalysis- history and development, as well as explication of major schools with a particular focus on Freudian and Lacanian psychoanalysis. Also psychoanalytic discourse within the wider cultural framework- especially literary criticsm and film studies.
On the literary front, I specialise in post-war American writing, including Berryman, Lowell, Bellow, and the New York School.

I am currently a Phd research student at Birbeck looking at the interplay between the work of the postwar American poet John Berryman and the psychoanalyst Jaques Lacan. As such I am interested in the interdisciplinary approach which is fostered by my department, Psychosocial Studies.
